Thanks for the clean up instruction and reference information.

A couple of quick questions:

1. Spybot resident teatimer. Do you recommend using it? It often pops up warnings on registry changes (due to updates and software install). A regular user would have no clue as what to do, allow or deny. It is confusing.

2. Malwarebytes Anti-malware. Does it serve the same purpose as spybot? Do I need both of them? It seems MBAM is more thorough and effective.

Did you read the links I posted for you? I believe those will answer most questions.

1) I personally use this program which does much the same job:

and have for many years. If you run SpywareGuard, do not activate TeaTimer.

2) Spybot S&D and MBAM target different areas, I suggest you keep both, but keep them turned off. Update and run them both often, at least once a month.
