I've attempted to remove it multiple times now with Spybot S&D with no luck. I looked at some of the previous posts here and have already installed the Recovery Console thing onto my Laptop so I'm ready for whatever needs to be done... I've also already downloaded and scanned with VundoFix, which actually told me that I have no infected files on my system. Here's a HijackThis log...

Update:

Luckily I caught this right as it happened...My laptop came out of standby mode by itself. I quickly logged on and found a message that vstskmgr.exe had stopped working. An online search revealed to me that:

vstskmgr.exe is a process belonging to the McAfee Internet Security suite and protects your computer from Internet-bound threats. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

So now I've disconnected that laptop from the internet...

Oh, and one more thing. I found the .exe and attempted to run it. A command prompt window came up and then closed after a few seconds. I assumed that the program was supposed to do that, but just in case I went to check my process list....It's not there. Is virtumonde preventing me from running it again? Or does that process just not show up in the list in general?

All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Make sure you read and follow the directions, anything else will slow the process and waste both of our time. I suggest you keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk may download more. If you have any tool I use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully, the tools will not work unless you do.
The junk can be tough to remove, so do not expect fast or easy.

I apologize for the wait, volunteers are swamped at all forums with infected computers. If you have resolved your issues, please post to let me know so I can close this topic.

David, pinned (sticky) to the top of the forum and posted above are links to the instructions. Please read and follow all directions and that includes:

1) Locate the correct version of HJT according to those directions.

2) Disabling TeaTimer before posting a HJT log.

3) tashi fixed the multiple posts you started, but make sure you see this:

Posting additional comments or logs before a volunteer responds, can push you back instead of forward, because your thread ends up with a newer date. Also, helpers may think you are already being assisted because of the post count.

When you have read and followed the "Before you Post" directions, post a new HJT log using the correct version and placed according to the instructions and I will take another look.
