Description:
Fraud.UltraAntivirus2009 claims to be an antispyware solution. When it is installed on the computer it identifies a lot of harmless files and autorun entries as malware. The software nags the user to purchase a license and to fix these false positives.
Removal Instructions:

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\Ultra Antivirus 2009.lnk".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\UltraAV\UltraAV.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Ultra Antivirus 2009\UltraAV.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "UltraAV.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "Release_UNREG.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.UltraAntivirus2009 uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\UltraAV".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Ultra Antivirus 2009".

  • Delete the registry key ".key" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\".
  • Delete the registry key ".key" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\".
If Fraud.UltraAntivirus2009 uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
