Default longing for an option to run the tools section separately

    Hi,
I love the tools section of Spybot S&D and I use it frequently.
But I hate the long time SB S&D needs to start.
I'd love an option to start the tools separately so that not the whole program needs to be loaded.

What kind of tools are you talking about (give examples)? Spybot-Search&Destroy doesn't really take a long time to start on my machine (512MB of RAM, Intel P4 3.0GHz). It takes a good 5-10 seconds to start. Spybot's program itself (scanning and immunizing) boot time will depend on your machine's resources. A faster machine = faster bootup and vice-versa.

    Hi,
especially the system startup and process list.

On my computer (Windows XP SP3, AMD 1,6 GHz) SBSD needs more than a minute to start.
Sure, a faster machine makes a faster start. But not everybody has the newest, fastest, best, ...est, machine.
Since I use the tools more often than the Spybot I'd like to start the tools separately.
Other, faster programs also have these tools, but since I am used to SBSD I'd like to use these tools here.

1.6 GHz might explain the slow bootup time. I can't be sure if any more RAM might improve the situation.

What tools that load during Startup? You mean the Resident Shield TeaTimer?

All I can say is that you'll have to live with what you have at the moment. Of course, not everyone has the fastest or the fanciest machines, but we all try to make the best out of it. If you have the finance, during times like this where widescreen monitors are becoming more cheaper and connection speeds faster, I would suggest you "upgrade" your machine or purchase a faster one.

The 1.6Ghz might be the problem behind the slow loading time.

Just make sure you have the latest version of Spybot.
    Good luck.

    Hmmm...

A much more modern version of the Tools section is available stand-alone called RunAlyzer. This will be a integrated, still as a separately launched file, in Spybot 2.0 for exactly that reason (among others) - give single modules a faster load time. For processes, there's also ProcAlyzer.

    Default Thank you

It took me quite a while 'till I installed the recommended tools.
Thank you for your hint, PepiMK.
