Default how can i remove right media from Spybot search and destroy?

hi i have a real problem with this right media, which is a spyware.
i know there was a thread about this, and someone had the same exact problem as me, but it's closed.

so can you please tell me how i can eliminate right media, as it always appears in spybot and i cant seem to get rid of it, even when i click on fix selected problem.

here's what it says about right media on wikipedia

"Right Media, Inc. is an online advertising company that operates the Right Media Exchange (RMX), a marketplace that enables advertisers, publishers, and ad networks to efficiently trade digital media. Technology providers develop services for the Exchange via APIs. Right Media also operates an online ad network called Remix Media, and allows free access to the exchange for small publishers via its Direct Media Exchange service. Right Media's customers include Yahoo! (also an investor[1]) and Fox Interactive Media.

On 30 April 2007, Yahoo! announced the acquisition of Right Media[2].

Right Media appears as Spyware in the program Spybot - Search and Destroy

Contrary to any other claims, Right Media will not allow itself to be removed. Right Media leaves a file in your computer registry which reconnects and reloads Right Media as soon as you access the Internet. It is considered malware for that reason".

i have anti-virus personal edition classic on my computer and yes it is up to date.

Hello Edgecrusher and welcome to the forums
This was not the right place to post but...

Here is a topic about the Right Media, I think you find the answer there, it is just a tracking cookie.
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=30247

If you don't want cookies, you may want to use these too for additional blocking:

    Install SpywareBlaster
SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.

    Install MVPS Hosts file
This prevents your computer from connecting to harmful sites.

Create a new folder to the desktop named HijackThis.
Copy & paste HiJackThis.exe file into the folder.

    Temporarily disable Teatimer:

    Disable Spybot S&D Teatimer.
    • Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode
    • If it is not already set to do this, go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
    • On the left hand side, click on Tools
    • Then click on the Resident icon in the list
    • Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
    • Restart your computer

You may remove these leftovers with HijackThis:

Run HijackThis, click Do a system scan only, and check the box next to each of these entries if still present. Close all other windows and press Fix checked. If something isn't there, please continue with the next entry in the list.

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

    Now you may enable Teatimer.

You don't seem to have a third-party firewall installed. You must install one firewall.
It is possible that you're using the Windows XP firewall. That is of course better than nothing but I recommend that you install a more advanced firewall that gives more protection. Windows firewall doesn't eg protect your computer from inbound threats. This means that any malware on your computer is free to "phone home" for more instructions. Remember to use only one firewall at the same time. I'll give you a few alternatives if you want to install a third-party firewall:

    These are good (free) firewalls:

i tried the sybot disable teatimer and checking the 3 links in the HijackThis and selecting fix checked. and then reanable teatimer.

i then went back to default mode, on spybot, scanned the system and right media came back up again, so i selected fix selected problem. then i exited spybot. went back on the internet for a few mins. started spybot again and scanned it for the second time, and right media didnt come up again. i think the problem is solved, but not entirely sure.

i will check back again, if the problem is still there, if this thread is still open hopefully.

Okay good. I recommend that you install the Hosts file and SpywareBlaster too as those will block cookies.

ok, i went on the internet, internet options, privacy tab, advanced, blocked third-party cookies. but do you know if it is a good idea to block first-party cookies?

    Hi

Did you install the 2 applications two?

Blocking first party cookies will cause problems with some sites unless you allow cookies for some specific sites only.
