    Default Bug: Spybot 1.6.2.46 & Vista 64

Spybot 1.6.2.46 is broken on Windows Vista 64bit. It seems to have installed fine, but after downloading updates, it went to install them and since then, now i get:
Please select some update files from the list first.
I assume it has to do more with Windows 64 bit more then anything. It appears when trying to update, it isn't looking in the proper folder... "C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy"

I tried to add quotes around the "LocalFile" path in "downloaded.ini" to see if that would resolve the issue, but doesn't seem to affect it either way.

    Thank you!

Is there anything checked in list for updating?
downloaded.ini should be only a log.
Have you tried to reinstall Spybot-S&D?
Did you have this problem in earlier versions?

There is no list, it never lets be bring the list back up. This was never an issue before. This is new to the latest version. I have not tried a reinstall yet, but others are reporting the same issue. This is not specific to my machine as you'll see in this post: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=44964

It isn't a Vista 64bit issue. I'm having the same problem and I am using vista 32bit.

Since there has been no official response, a bug report has been submitted via email. Hopefully we'll soon receive some information.

Download and reinstall Spybot 1.6.2.46 making sure to run the installation program (spybotsd162.exe) with elevated Administrator rights:
    • Instead of just left-clicking to start spybotsd162.exe, Right-click and selest "Run as administrator" from the context menu.

I have the security disabled. That wasn't the issue. Although a clean wipe and reinstall did seem to resolve the error I was receiving. Which is interesting that it didn't work last time.........

Well that was short lived. Later that night, the error came back. This is still considered an active bug with Vista.

I'm having the same problem in WINXP-Home SP3 - I hae 5 machines configured similarly, and 3 of them have the problem. The patch updater doesn't seem to help. Help?

Please don't write down the same post in two different threads.
    Best regards - Beste Grüße,
