Default Scanning cannot be canceled properly

    Spybot S&D 1.6.2.42

If I cancel an active scanning process the process hangs and I can see two windows: "Loading Spybot - Search & Destroy..." and the scanning window

The process does not turn back to the main windows ob Spybot S&D...

    What's wrong?

    Thank you for you support,
    Rallex

    Rallex:

Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.6.2.46 is the current version of Spybot.

What do you mean by cancel?

"Stop scan" appears to work properly for me resulting in the following message:

    User abort
    Scan was not completed successfully.

    Very fast reaction

You're right, I meant "Stop scan".

But on my system the process stops scanning without any comment.
The task manager says, that there is no answer (in German: Rückmeldung) of S&D...

Since I don't speak German, you may be better off posting in the German forum:

I'd like you to ask for one more try:

Please, start S&D with option "/autocheck" and then stop scanning.
    Does it work for you?

(Starting scanning from the main window and stop it works for me, too.)

    Rallex:

If I start Spybot with the /autocheck parameter and then attempt to use the "Stop check" button, Spybot does in fact hang.

Ok, good to know that you can reproduce the misfunction.

Can you submit this problem to the development team?

    Hi,
I have also the same problem but on WINDOWS XP SP2 PRO Edition with Spybot S&D 1.6.2.46.
I use /autocheck parameter and when I click on the "Stop check" button, I can see two windows: "Loading Spybot - Search & Destroy..." and the "scanning window", but the process does not turn back to the main windows of Spybot S&D...
I am french and don't speak German and just a little English, if you have a solution, I prefer in English than in German.

Thank you for your help, Best Regards
