Hi Katie, I would like to help but unfortunately you have not provided much information. Hackers have learned to hide their junk from HJT, I do see some junk, but I do not see those "trojans" you report. Would you provide more information, what program is finding these trojans, what does this program say the names and location are? What kind of symptoms are you receiving? Do you get any error messages from Windows? If so, post those "word for word"

If you will provide that information, giving me a direction, I will do all I can to help you.

Post also an uninstall list: Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

Sorry I am new at this, this is my first time doing this. I have the symantec anti-virus, and it is showing that I have these threats.

When you run Symantec and it finds these infected files (trojans), are you telling Symantec to delete or at least quarantine what it is finding?

Let's look at the uninstall list first:

This can be done as time permits, but it is important, and may be why you are infected.
Uninstall list: I look for malware and security issues and will not know all of your programs, but you should.
Hackers are using out of date programs to infect folks more and more,

When symantec says that I have a virus I quarantine them if possible.

Good morning Katie, The MBAM scan instructions says:

* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

You have posted a log showing: No action taken

Run the scan again, follow the driections and post a new scan results.

I was going to say PSI knows the programs on the uninstall list better than me, but I see you missed these?

Java(TM) 6 Update 2 <<< out of date, uninstall it.

and this one:
My Way Search Assistant <<< this program is adware, uninstall it.

We need to do some cleaning in the HJT log, but you are running System Configuration Utility (MSConfig) in Selective Startup mode. I need to see the log in Normal mode so I can make sure no malware is turned off. Please change to Normal mode and create a HJT log. You can then return to Selective Startup without a restart.

Post a new MBAM report with the items it finds showing: Quarantined and deleted successfully
and a new HJT log with MSConfig running in Normal Mode.

Morning Phil,

Sorry about that mbam list I copied and pasted the wrong one! So will attach the right one. I tried to remove at My Way Search Assistant and got a error code this is what it said error loading c:\prora~1\mywaysa\srchasde\1.bin\desrcas.dll this specified module could not be found.

Hope I got everything you need this time correct! thanks AGain phil for all you do!

Before we clean the junk in the HJT log, let's have combofix take a look.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use

Download ComboFix from here:

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools
See this Link for programs that need to be disabled and instruction on how to disable them.
Remember to re-enable them when we're done.
Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply along with a New Hijackthis log.

*If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.

combofix is not finding malware, we will remove it soon, let's proceed like this. This information you can use to help your computer run better. I see running processes like C:\Program Files\DellSupport that uses a load of resources and you are starting it everytime you boot. There are others, but you will have to read the information, then look at each item in Start Up to decide what to turn off. Do not turn off security programs.

Please follow the directions carefully and in the numbered order.

1) c:\program files\LimeWire <<< if you have not uninstalled this p2p program, do so now. Then navigate to that folder in RED and delete it!

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

4) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
