How to Remove WinAntispyware 2006?

Hi I have discovered that WinAntispyware 2006, which I have downloaded to my computer (in the mistaken belief that it was endorsed by Microsoft), is suspicious.

Unfortunately when trying to uninstall WinAntispyware 2006 through add/remove programs the uninstall window opens but nothing happens and the computer freezes.

I have run a Skybot search and destroy but "Winantispyware 2006" was not deleted.

Please could someone advise how to remove WinAntispyware 2006.

Create a new folder, for instance C:\AntiSpyware
Download the exe from here to that new folder.

You can delete its folder in program files also.

there will be a new txt near blacklite. post it please.

Yes, I believe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinAntiSpyware 2006 Scanner] "c:\program files\winantispyware 2006 scanner\was6.exe" /min
has been deleted in a further Spybot search since the original Hijack log.

However, it is still not possible to delete the WinAntiSpyware 2006 folder in Program files - error message comes up saying "Cannot delete shellext.dlll: Access is denied".

Tried the F-Secure Backlite scan and results are "no hidden items found".
Please could you explain how to find the "new txt near blacklite".

Good blacklite saw no hidden files

Give use a list of the files in that winantispyware folder
You will need to have set file extension to be shown in "folder option's" (in windows control panel) if it is not set that way already.
folder options view tab uncheck hide extension's for known file types
