    Default startup key question

i have 2 pc systems. win xp
when i view the startup log at the bottom i see 8 keys for winlogon on sys 1 and 8 keys for system ini on sys 2.
some are checked and some are not. i have unchecked them and my computer seems to be unaffected. when i reboot and go back to the startup log 1 of those entries on each system has a check. can anyone tell me what these entries are and should i be concerned

    Leave them alone!

At least one of them is required for the operation of Windows Automatic Updates and they are all related to Operating System functions. They are listed since in some cases, malware is known to use these as hooks to start at login.

See: Why are System.ini entries even identified at Startup?

Basic antimalware program useage; if you don't know what something is, leave it alone. What you don't know CAN hurt you, or your computer in this case.
