More than likely the old Spybot version was causing the problem, normally a fully immunized up to date Spybot S&D will remove what it finds.

Hi Phil,
I'm pretty sure that i removed the old spybot version before running mbam the first time. However, i have done spybot scans since then and it has come out clean. I just updated mbam and will be running a new scan. Then i'll update and run a mcafee scan too. I'll let you know how the scans go as soon as i get done with them.

Hi Phil,
Last night i did the mbam scan and it came up clean - nothing detected.
Tonight i updated mcafee and scanned. The only thing it came up with was the program for combofix - said it was a "potentially unwanted program". Other than that, mcafee came up clean.
So it looks like everything is okay. Thanks for helping me.

There is nothing unsafe in combofix but it should have been removed before you ran McAfee? If you have any of combofix left on the computer (look on C:\) delete it. The program does not update and must be downloaded new if ever needed again.
