Yeah, you should. For me, I wasted money when I thought it would provide some additional benefit. You should save up the money for something else.

I'd suggest you had Seagate's External HD ready because it is physical and you can find it, use it, carry it, transport it, etc. To simply put it, Acronis [to me] is an advanced version of System Restore with plenty of flexible options.

I see... So which means you recommend me using the Seagate HD software to backup my laptop and not through Acronis??

That's what I would do if I were in your situation, because Acronis makes backups in your system, not to any other external resource.

I see.. Then it would make the program useless isn't it??

No. I wouldn't consider it "useless". Acronis is a good piece of software if you know how to take advantage of it's flexible features.

I'd just prefer an external HD over a backup software, it's just an alternative.

If you mean does it update your backup, then yes.
    For example: Backup 5.5.09
    Backed up files: A B C

    Backup 5.6.09
    Backed up files: A B C
Files on the PC waiting to be backed up: F

    After backup with Seagate Manager:
    Backed up files: A B C F
