So you get the idea. Seagate won't take another 15 minutes rebacking up the whole backup, but rather leaving those files who have not been update there, and just replacing the files that were modified or moved.

Well, it was just a guess since I have a 15-20GBs worth of documents. It'll vary. The USB transfer rate for external HDs should be very fast. Around like 7MBs per second (rough estimate).

Is it true that I can only do one backup of my laptop? Can i create another backup?? I just backed up my Vista laptop and the backup is only 4GB. Why is it so small??

I don't understand your first sentence.
    Why is it so small??
Then think about what you have chosen to back up.

Sorry for not making myself clear. I meant that the Seagate Manager does not allow me to do a second backup of the machine. Hope this makes it clearer for all. Thanks.

You can make more than one backup plan : ]. But I am unclear if that makes another backup to your first one (leaving the first one untouched). But you can always try with a test (small) file.

Oh... Regarding the small backup file size, i did check all the folders and subfolders when i chose the files that i want to backup. But the space used up byt he backup is 2GB as stated in the drive properties. Why is that so??

So you're saying your data combined does not equal to 2GBs? I don't know what's going on there.

Usually what I would do after I complete backing up, I would navigate to the external HD and check the folders one by one (it is tedious because there are so many subfolders) and then the files one by one. I do not prefer just copying and pasting to the HD just like that (cutting down navigation time, but some files will have to be manually copied and pasted again to be updated).

Hmm.. OK. I'll explain the whole process. I checked each one every one of the folders when the Seagate Manager asked me which files i wish to backup. Then i started the backup process. Whenthe backup was finished, they told me they backup 2GB of files, which small compared to all the files(system files and other stuffs) that are 21GB. And also, i could not see the backup file in the Seagate drive. That is what happended. Sorry if i did not make myself clear in the previous posts.
