Default Serious malware infection - please help

I have a serious malware infection. It all started a couple of weeks ago when XPPolice was installed on the PC, I removed the associated folder, ran HJT, removed references to "mywebsearch". After that ran Spyware Doctor and ADAware which removed some infections. Things were ok for a couple of days - then porn pages began to download and a multitude of messages appeared stating unsuccessful scipts. In addition to the above symptom I have the following:
    - can't boot into safe mode
    - can't install spybot
    - bootup takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    HJT log below:

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance) http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Pinned (sticky) to the top of this forum, and posted above are the directions, make sure you have read and followed them.

I have seen enough references to backdoor trojans when researching this information that I think you have have this information.
How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud?
    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10451
When Should I Format, How Should I Reinstall
    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10063

If you wish to try to clean the computer, we will start like this.

    1) Please DO NOT ENABLE Spybot S&D TeaTimer while we work together.

    2) Thanks to andymanchesta and anyone else who helped with the fix.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop
    http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/R...ools/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
    Restart your computer
    After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
    Choose your usual account.
Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally post the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

    3) Post also an uninstall list: Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
    Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP,
Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list
    )

Default cannot boot into safe mode.

Thanks for the quick reply. I cannot boot into safe mode - should I still follow the instructions, but boot into regular mode?

    See if this information helps?

    What do you mean by
I cannot boot into safe mode
Exactly what happens when you try to access safe mode? If you get a message, post it word for word.

    Thanks

    Default Safe mode

I do not get a message - When I choose safe mode from the screen, I get a very quickly rolling DOS screen with commands on it that are too quickly gone to read. It then returns to the original screen and promps again how I want to boot up. If I choose safe made again, the same thing happens. Sorry if I can't provide more details.

Sounds like you have some bad problems, I do not want to run SDFix in normal mode, let's try another tool.

combofix does not need to run in safe mode, but please follow the directions carefully.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use

    Download ComboFix from here:

    Link 1

    * IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

    • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools
    • See this Link for programs that need to be disabled and instruction on how to disable them.
    • Remember to re-enable them when we're done.

    • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
    • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
    • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply along with a New Hijackthis log.

*If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.

Post the uninstall list I requested when you have it.

    Thanks...Phil

    Default Bad news

Downloaded Combofix. It installed the Recovery Console but then the system locked up. No log was produced.
I rebooted and attempted to rerun (perhaps I should not have), program ran for about 2 minutes, but again, no log.

Perhaps at this point it would be best to run System Restore.
Thank you for all your help. Do you have any other recourse?

Chances are (I can not be 100% certain) your system restore files are infected also. Look on the C:\ for a file called C:\combofix.txt and post the contents if it is there.

If you wish to go that route, it will require a reformat. Be careful if you are using USB or Flash drives, they can be infected also and reinfect you if used in the future.
