    Default temporary internet file

Before I run sypbot to check for problem, I always go to tools-->internet options--> and delete all cokies, temp internet file, etc. However when I start spybot and click on check for problem, spybot still say that there are 323 temporary internet file. My question is, is spybot looking at different directory when it look for how many internet file my computer has? I am confused because I have delete the file and in IE when I click on view file, I do not see anything but spybot say that I still have 323 temp internet file.

    Hi gibot,

are you sure Spybot says "internet files" ? I'm not sure about this... well, if you don't want to clean theese temp files with opening IE, you can use the

    ATF Cleaner
Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. It is a great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.
    Best regards - Beste Grüße,

u can check the contents of temp and internet temp by doing:

    start-run-temp
    and
    start-run-%temp%

to see for yourself what is in the temp folders.

from what i recall spybot has a problem with empty folders and used to refuse to delete them even tho they are part of the temp files it detects.

u may have to delete these manually if its safe to.

also spybot takes exception to the amount of temp files downloaded by kaspersky online virus scanner. and will ALWAYS bitch about temp files when u have run this from the website.
