Running XP with Firefox. Noticed I had a couple odd redirects after doing a Google search. Reinstalled Spybot S&D and it wouldn't let me connect to www.safer-networking.org, other computer on the network could. Went to update Kaspersky, which detected nothing, and it wouldn't update. Uninstalled Kaspersk and went with AVG, AVG cannot update either, running it also found nothing. A friend suggested Norten, I could update their dtbase but it found nothing.
I've tried everything in Safe Mode, with and without networking. AVG detects nothing, no dose the Trend HouseCall. Spybot will not actually run on this machine, no connect to update. I cannot browse most anti-virus/malware site. Getting to the point where a reformat sounds good, but I figured I'd try the real tech forums first. Fairly computer and Internet literate, which these days seems to mean I am capable of being a danger to myself and my machine.
I mistakenly started this post in the wrong forums and was pointed here. Here's the HJT log as well.
