HijackThis Log - Several symptoms...

There is certainly something not right with my computer. Random .dll files are disappearing or becoming corrupt - I can't edit anything the System32 folder, and have lost access to it entirely. (Other than viewing.)

Random things no longer start up. I don't know what's going on...

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium with Firefox as my primary browser, and Internet Explorer is here - but never used. I protect my computer with Spybot, McAfee Total Security, and on occasion Windows Defender.

I have 2 gigs of RAM and for some reason most of it is being utilized around the clock! Even when I have NOTHING open. It never used to be this way...

I'm wondering if I can fix this or if I should just reformat entirely. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Read and follow the directions and you will see stuff like this:

Posting additional comments or logs before a volunteer responds, can push you back instead of forward, because your thread ends up with a newer date. Also, helpers may think you are already being assisted because of the post count.

and you would know you posted an out of date HJT log. If you still need help, and have read and followed the "Before you Post" instructions, then do this:

Download Trend Micro Hijack This™ to your Desktop
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com...HJTInstall.exe
Doubleclick the HJTInstall.exe to start it.
By default it will install HijackThis in the Program Files\Trendmicro folder and create a desktop shortcut.
HijackThis will open after install. Press the Scan button below.
This will start the scan and open a log.
Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.
