bookmarks disabled

After running Spybot S&D last evening, I realized that nearly all my Bookmarks in Firefox were disabled. The (very large) dropdown list of bookmarks is still there, but the icons are almost all gone, and I cannot use that feature to connect to websites. What did I do wrong???

I would like an answer to this question too as the exact same thing happened to me. This is a BIG problem that needs to be fixed right away.

All is now well. I did not know Firefox did that! The question remains though,
why did this happen? Will it happen again? Enquiring minds would like to know!
