The Immunize feature of SpyBot is exactly the problem you’re encountering; if you remove the “Immunize” then performance will dramatically improve.

The problem with “Immunize” was not present in IE8 betas or RC.

    Eric,
    Thanks for the link,

    I have Spybot L&G w/immunization & no addons.

I won't let my customers disable this feature as I consider Spybot S&D an indispensable asset and can't allow upgrading to IE8 until fixed.

Any news on when IE8 Development will cease causing this debilitating delay?

    Geof

PS - I saw a lot of grips about cpu hogging issue during Beta and waited until you guys said it was gone to download - but I guess the issue is still open.
    I didn't install ie8 till last week.

    Thanks,
    G.

    Geof3:

Also see the response to the other thread (I don't want to remove "Immunize") that you started on the same subject.

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.
