    Unhappy I Canīt scan

Hi, Iīve got this problem: When I try to scan I get this message "You need to install the detection updates first by using the integrated update or the manual updater" but when I click "update" i get "no newer updates available" As I installed Spybot just a couple of days ago, Am I missing some steps to get it working properly?

    Thanks.

Sorry Matt, but I donīt think it works for me, the error messages I get are different and I use XP, not Vista... any ideas?

Thanks again (and sorry about asking for help in the wrong places )

    Hi Leonhard,

    You can try this:

    Step # 1
Uninstall Spybot over the Add/Remove feature from Windows

    Step # 2

    Reboot your computer

    Step # 3
Delete all leavings from Spybot manually.

    Step # 4
Download Spybot 1.6.2 from here and install it.

Note: Do not update during the installation process. Update it later manually.

Moreover, in the link that I have already given you, were important information about YOUR problem. Look carefully through my three links here:
    Select some updates first

Thanks Matt! Reinstalling took care of the problem, but i have to admit that I probably had a wrong update configuration (I was using a proxy which seems to deny acces to the update sites) so only when reading the threads you suggested i realized that.

So, thank you very much and, if you excuse me, Iīm going to bump my head against a wall for a while.

    Bye.

There's no need to do this.
