    Hello,

    I am posting new topic per instructions. I have been having major problems with virus overload (starring SurfKick3) on a laptop with a new hard drive that is only a couple weeks old.
    I ran BitDefender per instructions, getting the following log:

    I had tried deleting SurfKick3 manually per instructions found elsewhere. It went smoothly until I tried to download the actual SurfKick folder in c:\\programfiles. That's when I started looking and found the topic here. Can you help me?

    Hi

    In windows control panel addremove programs uninstall surfsidekick if its listed, restart the PC afterwards, while your there uninstall any other suspect programs.

    I used SystemMechanic6, which took some but not all viruses off, before running Look2Me-Destroyer. Have done nothing since these logs. SurfsideKick3 is the main culprit; it's not in the Programs menu in the control panel, and when I tried to remove it manually per instructions found elsewhere all went well until I tried to delete the actual SurfSidekick folder in C drive, which would not delete.

    Turn off System Mechanic's SystemGuardAlerter , we dont want it to interfear with our fix's...

    Open a command prompt (start run type cmd press enter) type
    sc delete "lsass"

    press enter, type exit and press enter to exit the command prompt


    Start Hijackthis and place a check next to these items If there.

    Hit fix checked and close Hijackthis.

    Download Brute Force Uninstaller.
    Unzip it to it’s own folder (c:\BFU)
    It must be unzipped to the c:\BFU folder (Or the drive windows is installed to, which is normaly C:\)


    Rightclick on this link and choose save target as, save sidekickFix.bat to that BFU folder.

    Even though you have one of the best ntivirus programs another opinion is always a good idea
    Housecall or ca's or both since they can actualy fix/remove files
