Nah, the old internet is pretty good by UK standards (Standard 8 meg broadband 'theoretical' speed, actual speed ~6 meg). Don't know how we survived on dailup not that many years ago...

The same here too, you have to upgrade to Avira Premium to get faster downloads

I'll stay with AVG 8.5, LinkScanner is also a nice addition

We (Germans) don't like guys from England. Therefore, Avira has limited your download rate.

Seriously, I don't really know. ance is from Germany as well. Perhaps their servers are very busy, although they increase them constantly...

Not all the time though. It depends on what you put on your machine, some users might install a full security suite (bitman said it might be easier to pinpoint a problem if it occurs) or mix and match.
If you have the time to spare, you might want to check out mrizo's channel on Youtube. He reviews Anti-virus and anti-malware products and how those products perform in a virtual environment against malware. I won't say the products are accurate according to the video but it should give you some general idea on how it works.

Paid products give you the extra kick but most of the free anti-malware products should be more than adequate in your defense.

I reviewed it in another perspective, it's some Lv. 100 weapon. That has infinite defense :D. All you need: what is going on, how to respond.

    Hello,

I use also Avira and Spybot - Search & Destroy as security software on my home pc. I had one infection which was recognized, so I trust my both tools.
And about Kaskpersky we do not need to talk at all. What to say about a company who forces their users to uninstall our software?
Please do also have a look at this link on our homepage:

yes, Kaspersky does that - it forces you to uninstall your other anti-viruses and that's so stupid... At Eset Nod32 you can ignore and continue the setup and what is amazing with Eset Nod32 is that it's installation last for 10 sec - no more! AVG has a tool (for another reason but that works for us too) that can hide it from other Anti-Viruses and stuff like that. It was made at the first place to hide it from another beta AVG product which is still in beta mode called AVG Microscanner and it's like an Online Scanner at your pc - it's good! You can download that Show/Hide AVG Tool from the official AVG Site if you are part of the BETA Team which I am and so I made a rar file with two files: HideAVGDir.exe and ShowAVGDir.exe. Both files are from AVG's BETA Site and are totally clean. Here:

    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/245519999/Show-Hide_AVG_Dir.rar

    HAVE FUN!!!
