    Default Host file is modified

I uninstalled Spybot some time ago. For some reason there seams to be a part of it left over. When I modify my Host file it will eventually get over written with this:
    # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    # Start of entries inserted by Spybot - Search & Destroy
    # This list is Copyright 2000-2008 Safer Networking Limited
    # End of entries inserted by Spybot - Search & Destroy
    # [AdBrite, Inc]
How do I stop this from happening? Thanks!

These are just comments added at the beginning and end of what would have been sites Spybot added to the hosts file.Looks like the sites usually listed there between the comments were removed. The comments left there afterwards will not affect anything and do no harm.
You could safely just leave the comments in the hosts file, but if you would like to remove them,I could tell you how to remove them,if you wish.

I have modified this in the past by deleting all comments, but within a week it is modified with this text. I figured it is some part of spybot left over such as teatimer that is doing this since spybot is mentioned in the modified file.

Could you go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and rightclick the hosts file and see if read only is checkmarked?
    Do you have Windows XP?

It's hard for me to see if the following works, because I'm on Vista.
Please try removing the checkmark from Read-only,click Apply, then Ok.
Try editing out Spybot's comments now,and see if it sticks.
