    Default Program won't run

New install after reformat. Third try, all same error returns when trying to open program (including trying to run from .scr in program folder, and as administrator, per Matts' post).

The procedure entry point inet_ntoa could not be located in the dynamic link library wsock32.dll
Also, a Windows advise that Spybot Search & Destroy had to close (error reporting).

Possibly a windows error? though checkdisk showed no errors.

    * spybotsd162 from various download sources
    * Windows Vista Home Premium Sp1
    * No infections on system (multiple scanners)

    Help very much appreciated!

Hard to say, perhaps someone should take a look at the system.

Step # 4: Malware Removal Forum
If none of the above resolved the issue:

Please read this FAQ: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance)

Then start your own thread in the Malware Removal Forum and post your HijackThis logfile. An analyst will advise you as soon as available.
