    1. Ran Spybot with Firefox open on a Vista machine today. No error message when I closed spybot. (Machine not currently available so can't say what version of Firefox but I updated spybot before running.)

    2. Home machine - XP:
    a) Firefox open.
    b) Ran Spybot.
    c) Closed Firefox. Waited until the Firefox.exe disappeared from both Applications and Processes tabs of Task Manager. It takes a lot longer for Firefox process to actually close after the windows close.
    d) Closed Spybot. appeared to close without the error.
    e) opened Firefox as soon as the Spybot window disappeared. Error message appeared.

    Tried again
    a) thru d) the same.
    e) Waited until Spybot disappeared from the Processes tab in Task Manager.
    f) Opened Firefox - no error message.
don't know whether this is helpful or not in determining when and why this error message is popping up.

    Hello @ all!

Thanks to your cooperation we have been able to narrow the error down to a specific parameter. Our dev team is working hard on a fix for this and as bitman already stated as soon a fix will be available it will be included in the update.

    Hi Ras1974,

Just ran a scan with the new update relased on Aug 26th, still got the Error 216 if use advcheck.dll v.1.6.3.17. I think we need to wait until they release a new version of the advcheck.

For ver. 1.6.2.13 & 1.6.2.15, both can finish the scan with no error.

    Regards,
    Sam

    Hello,

We are sorry that it took so long - but we have finally found and fixed the error. Please download a fresh advcheck here.
Run the exe file, it is a manual update for your advcheck.dll.

    Best regards
