Description:
Fraud.ANGAntivirus2009 claims to be an antispyware tool. When it is installed to the computer it finds a lot of harmless entries in order to frighten the user to make him buy a license to get the issue fixed.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMFILES>\System\mgnc\angpd.exe".
  • The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMFILES>\System\mgnc\angpd.xml".
  • The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMFILES>\System\mgnc\mcdk.exe".
  • The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMFILES>\System\mgnc\rkgnd.exe".
  • The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMFILES>\System\mgnc\wsd.exe".
  • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\ANG AntiVirus 09.lnk".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\ANG AntiVirus 09\ANG AntiVirus 09.lnk".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.ANGAntivirus2009 uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

  • The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMFILES>\System\mgnc".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\ANG AntiVirus 09".

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "ANG AntiVirus 09" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
  • Delete the registry key "Total Virus Protection" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
If Fraud.ANGAntivirus2009 uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
