    Hi,

Nothing is really jumping out at me. But I do see a few things wrong.

ewido anti-spyware 4.0 <--This is legit but its no longer available, it was sold to AVG a few years ago and is now AVG Anti Spyware. Since its out dated , I would uninstall it via the Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

I also see Avast as your Anti Virus software, I am also looking at Symantec still running as a service but don't see it installed. Did you try removing Symantec at one time, if you did it was a botched uninstall. You can run this tool that will remove all of Symantec products due to bad installs or uninstalls.

Lets run this scan to see if there is anything we missed. When we're done I will link you to a windows support site that can help you with your updates

Please run this free online virus scanner from ESET
    • Note: You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan
    • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
    • Click Start
    • When asked, allow the activex control to install
    • Click Start
    • Make sure that the option Remove found threats is ticked, and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked
    • Click Scan
    • Wait for the scan to finish
    • Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
    • Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic

    Good Morning,

It looks like your computer is up to date with SP3 and IE8. Are you still having problems with the updates.

Is this working for you ?
Open IE and go to Tools > Windows Updates and download any critical updates

Go to Start > Control Panel > Security Center....Is it set to get updates automatically ? If not check that radio button

    Thanks for your help.
seems that i still have the issue of auto updates not working/failing.
i can install them manually, but is a bit of a pain.
i have contacted microsoft, and they are starting to walk through the problem.
