    Default Meaning of "de-Immunize"

I have been working with a person on an Internet Explorer Forum trying to resolve a Pop-Up problem. He says I do not have the latest SPYBOT software, and need to update it. I am at v 1.6.0.30. I have requested updates every week, and thought I was at the latest level. This is what he recommends:
I'd recommend that you (a) de-Immunize Spybot (IMPORTANT!), (b) uninstall
    >> your current Spybot version & reboot, (c) download/install the newest
    >> version, (d) do not enable Tea Timer, (e) update Spybot, (e) Immunize,
    >> and
    >> then (f) run a full scan before you procede any further.

I don't know how to de-immunize Spybot, and Immunize it again. He suggested I go to this forum for help.
Thanks for your time, Charles Ranheim

    Hello,

Just go to the immunization site and hit undo.
Then uninstall your version and download the new version 1.6.2.
    Then immunize again.

I am running Spybot v 1.6.0 in default mode. In default mode I cannot see any options. Is the TEA Timer active in default mode?

    Hello,

The immunization is visible in default mode and advanced mode.
Just choose Immunize from the navigation bar on the left.

About TeaTimer - it depends if you have choose it during installation.
You should see if it is active, because then you would have a TeaTimer icon in your system tray.

Anyway - it does not matter if you have the normal mode activated, you can switch anytime to the advanced mode just by choosing Advanced mode via the menu item Mode.

    Hello,

PM is a private message, that some users like to write to a single person in order to get help. You did do nothing wrong.

It was suggested I remove my current version (1.6.0) of Spybot before downolading the newer version. Will the normal WindowsXP Add/Remove feature be good enough to completely remove this program, or do you have a utility that might do a better job? In the past, I have had a problem where after doing the Add/Remove, a message comes up saying it could not completely remove all parts of the program. I am afraid this might prevent the new release from installing. If that happened, I would not be able to go back to where I was. Thanks for your assistance. Charles Ranheim
