Viewpoint comes bundled with AOL products, its a useless program and is slowly making its way to being classified as adware.

You should uninstall DNA, it will keep you and whoever uses your computer out of trouble.

Try dropping RSIT into this program.

Download Inherit and save it to your desk top
Drag each of the exe files that you are unable to run into Inherit.exe (must be the exe - not the shortcut)
Then wait for it to say "OK"

RSIT doesn't work no matter what. Still same error code. I don't know where to find Avast and Spybot .exe files, so they still don't work. I did uninstall DNA though. Hijack this was the only one fixed thus far from this Inherit.

You can go to C:\Program Files\Avast and look for avast.exe, minimize the window and drag it to Inherit.

Try to run both of these. Drag them to Inherit if they wont run. Malwarebytes will be found in Program Files as well

    Download TFC to your desktop
    • Close any open windows.
    • Double click the TFC icon to run the program
    • TFC will close all open programs itself in order to run,
    • Click the Start button to begin the process.
    • Allow TFC to run uninterrupted.
    • The program should not take long to finish it's job
    • Once its finished it should automatically reboot your machine,
    • if it doesn't, manually reboot to ensure a complete clean

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

    • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
    • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
    • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
    • Note: If you receive a notice that some of the items couldn't be removed, that they have been added to the delete on reboot list, please reboot.
Post the report and also a new HJT log please

    Log looks fine

Lets update your Java to make your system more secure

Go to your Control Panel and click on the Java Icon ( looks like a little coffee cup ) click on About and you should have Version 6 Update 16, if not proceed with the instructions.

Download the latest version Here save it, do not install it yet.

Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE)JRE 6 Update 16 <--The wording is confusing but this is what you need

    • Go to your Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any previous versions of Java
    • Reboot your computer
    • Install the latest version

You can verify the installation Here

As a final check I would like you to run this free online virus scanner

Please run this free online virus scanner from Kaspersky
    • Click on the Accept button and install any components it needs.
    • The program will install and then begin downloading the latest definition files.
    • After the files have been downloaded on the left side of the page in the Scan section select My Computer.
    • This will start the program and scan your system.
    • The scan will take a while, so be patient and let it run. (At times it may appear to stall)
    • Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan.
      • Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
      • Do NOT be alarmed by what you see in the report. Many of the finds have likely been quarantined.

    • Once the scan is complete, click on View scan report To obtain the report:
    • Click on: Save Report As
    • Next, in the Save as prompt, Save in area, select: Desktop
    • In the File name area, use KScan, or something similar In Save as type, click the drop arrow and select: Text file [*.txt]
    • Then, click: Save
    • Please post the Kaspersky Online Scanner Report in your reply.

How are things running now ??

    Another update here:
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Spybot. There is now a hidden undeleteable (no matter how many programs I use from File Shredders to Pocket Killbox) named SpybotSD.exe. Can't see it in the folder, but the folder registers 5.1MB that cannot be deleted. I feel like this might be a source also of my problems, and I need a spyware remover/protector. I even uninstalled Spybot and nothing. All of the files are gone, except that one.

    Thanks.

I understand that, but everything else deleted except this hidden undeletable file that is supposedly the main executing file, SpybotSD.exe. Even so, it won't let me reinstall, so that's fine.

It also says Kaspersky is being updated and improved, and won't let me do any downloading unless I do some free 30 day trial. Help here?

You can run this one from ESET instead and when where done I will link you to the Spybot support forum that can help you straighten that all out.

Please run this free online virus scanner from ESET
    • Note: You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan
    • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
    • Click Start
    • When asked, allow the activex control to install
    • Click Start
    • Make sure that the option Remove found threats is ticked, and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked
    • Click Scan
    • Wait for the scan to finish
    • Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
    • Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic

Still finding Trojans and things in the eventlog.dll. And it seems like things were left over from having Frostwire at one time or another. Should I go in and delete these or just leave them quarantined?
