Right Click Scan 1.6.2
Hi, I just upgraded to 1.6.2 and now i'm not able to do the right click scan to scan just a folder or a file... I'm also using Windows 7. Is there a way to enable this feature again? thanks.

Hello,
Spybot version 1.6 had the single files scan in the context menu. But there were so many complaints that we have decided to hide this feature in our new Spybot version 1.6.2.
You have to activate it manually.
Enter your "Start" Windows panel on the lower left, choose "run" and enter the following command line parameter to activate it:
"C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SDFiles.exe" /register
After that you'll get a notification that the command was successfull executed.
Now you can rightclick on a file and click on the tab SpybotS&D.
The single file will be scanned.

Hey, Thanks for the reply. Well i tried entering that command in there and it couldn't find it. So i went ahead and tried to look for the file. i found the sdfile under: C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy. So i then tried to enter: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SDFiles.exe" /register and it still couldn't find it... any more suggestions?

Hello,
We recommend a fresh install of Spybot - Search & Destroy.
Please uninstall Spybot - Search & Destroy according to the following link.
Then make a fresh install of Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.6.2.
You will find links to several download locations on our website.
Or choose the direct installation file.
So at the fresh install of Spybot:
1. select the language, the click OK,
2. then click Next,
3. accept the license agreement, click next,
4. select the destination location, click next,
5. then select components, TICK THE CHECKBOX IN FRONT OF "EXPLORER FILE SCAN PLUGIN (IN FILE CONTEXT MENU)
Then perform the other installation steps.
Best regards

Hi SoSick,
Just out of curiosity ...
Q1: What kind of Folders are you scanning? Or are you scanning any new downloads that you are NOT sure about ... like .RAR or other files!?!?
Q2: Has Spybot S&D caught anything so far as unclean!?!?
Thanks,
G!
