    Default Desktop.ActiveDesktop

    Hi,

I just got this in S&D, and was wondering what Desktop.ActiveDesktop actually is, and whether or not ii is harmfull. The reason I am asking is that I have read that it is a safe warning, and that if you (manage to) delete them that it disables changing you're background etc.

    Any help would be appreciated,
    virtual

    Hi

The items under ActiveDesktop are supposed to be a dword
    0 = no restriction, 1 = enable restriction
See this page for a description
    http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/443/

SpyBot will target some of them if they are a dword of 1 or a reg_SZ of 0 or 1

Currenltly i use a reg import to just delete

    NoChangingWallpaper
    NoComponents
    NoAddingComponents
    NoDeletingComponents
    NoEditingComponents
    NoCloseDragDropBands
    NoMovingBands
    NoHTMLWallPaper

Or You can safely delete the ActiveDesktop entry

So they are not actually spyware etc, and so can be left alone, or should I delete them?

If I choose to delete them, will I experience any of the problems I listed above?

    Thanks.

They can be put there with security software or spyware
    having a reg_SZ there weather a 0 or 1 has odd symtoms .
on my pc for example i cannot change the wallpaper, can view them just not change and other odd systoms

I suggest using the reg file mentioned here
