Ok, so an update.
Two things really,
1) My system is XP with SP3
2) At this time my computer is completely locked up after booting. I am unable to open any windows or programs, even task manager does not open (but the mouse does move around, no right click menu pop-up though). Note that my hard drive is not being very active either, just an occasional flicker on the light, nothing like what I would normally expect when trying to open programs. Attempting to boot into safe mode results in a blue screen. Last known configuration that works will allow it to boot, but at he desktop is still not working.
Anyway, thanks for any help you can give, I dont know what to do.
