Default Documentation for SB:S&D Advanced mode > Scheduler

Spybot user since v.1.2, your software is positively invaluable. I want to go deeper and use some of the automation afforded by the scheduler.

I've looked at the site FAQs and articles, read the software help file and poked around in the forums; and I can't find the answer to this:

The Updater Scheduler appears to need a flag in the task for selecting a mirror or selecting which files to download. After configuring the task with a run schedule, and running it (Windows Vista Business 32, UAC highest priviledges / run as administrator), I get the message "Please select some update files from the list first."

I would like to see if I can automate this completely with flags for what to download, if that is the problem.

Also, I see I can download updates and automate a daily scan, but what about automating immunization?

Perhaps these parts are new features in progress; I would just love to use these.

    Hello,

It seems to be a problem with the compatibility under Windows Vista.
You can solve the problem as follows:

    1. Download this new SDUpdate.exe.

To use this beta file, extract the downloaded archive into the main application folder (usually C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\) and replace the old file with the new one.

    2. If this does not help go to your SDUpdate.exe file in your program folder:
    C:\Program Files\ Spybot - Search & Destroy\

Rightclick the file and choose properties.
    Then choose the tab compatibilty.
There activate the checkbox in front of "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select from the drop down menu "WindowsXP". Now click "Apply" and "OK".

    That should fix the problem.

This problem has also been discussed in our forum.

    Best regards

Thanks! This seems to be working.

I should have mentioned my Spybot release. I'm on 1.6.2. So this applies even though the release number of the updater file seems to be 1.6.1?

    Appreciate the excellent help,
    Rprov
