    Default Avira Antivir

I had been using Symantec as my antivirus program. I didn't feel that it was working as well as it should as I would find junk that it missed when doing other scans so I uninstalled it. Last night I switched to McAfee which is free for Comcast subscribers. There must have been a conflict with another program because as soon as McAfee would start opening the computer would immediatly reboot. In desperation I found and installed Avira free edition. My question is:
Should I use Avira or use another program? When I go back to work I can get the license and reload Symantec or keep Avira. I am not going to try to solve the McAfee issue unless someone else has had this issue and may have a quick suggestion.

Nothing wrong with keeping Avira as your AV.
You may want to run this tool to completely remove your Symantec product. Note the information about saving your product key first in case you decide to reinstall it.
    Its provided by Symantec.

    A few other free AV:

Thanks Shelf life. I like it so far better than Symantec.
