    Default ArcSoft MediaImpression

I bought a Black-Friday-special camcorder and although I usually never install the software that comes with things I buy, the my video editing software was having trouble editing the HD video files, so I installed the ArcSoft MediaImpression program that came with the camcorder. However, Spybot pops up the attached message when I try to run the program, indicating that one of the called programs is malware.

I searched for "arcsoft" but it came back in 0 thread titles and the maximum 500 returns within the text (i.e. way too many to read), so this question may have been asked before, and if so my bad.

Is this a false positive report by Spybot? Anyone else tried to use this program? BTW, the camcorder was by Insignia in case that helps.

    Thanks!

    hello,

this appears to be a false positive with the TeaTimer component of Spybot S&D.
Please make sure to fully update your installation of Spybot S&D, then restart your computer. If it should still show this warning message please email the ArcMediaService.exe to detections@spybot.info for analysis.
