Infected or paranoid?

Hello!

My system's been running strangely for several days. I ran my SS&D the other day and it removed/changed this:

Microsoft.WindowsSecurityCenter.FirewallOverride: [SBI $0C94D702] Settings (Registry change, nothing done)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\FirewallOverride

I also ran other antivirus & malware software (AVG, Malwarebytes, Trend Micro Online scan, etc.) and came up clean. But my system is still kinda slow. Am I infected?

Nothing malicious on your log , but lets check a bit deeper

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows including this one, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

O23 - Service: Viewpoint Manager Service - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe (file missing)



Go to your Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall Viewpoint, it installs without your knowledge or consent, is considered Adware, uses system resources and is not needed for anything.




Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop.

• Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
• Under Main choose: Select All
• Click the Empty Selected button.

Your system may start up slower after running ATF Cleaner, this is expected but will be back to normal after the first or second boot up
Please note: If you use online banking or are registered online with any other organizations, ensure you have memorized password and other personal information as removing cookies will temporarily disable the auto-login facility.



Please download Malwarebytes from Here or Here

• Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
• At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
• When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
• Note: If you receive a notice that some of the items couldn't be removed, that they have been added to the delete on reboot list, please reboot.

Good Morning,

Nothing bad but am looking at a few problems you should fix.

You have these programs loading at start up and they don't need to start, you can go to Start > Run and type in msconfig and then hit enter, on the start up tab look for these and uncheck them, ok your way out. You will have to reboot for them to take effect, a box may come up telling you that your in selective start up, just check the box that says not to warn you again and it will go away.

The second issue is that you have two antivirus scanners running, this will put a strain on your system, you just need one, more then one is overkill. Your call but you need to uninstall one of these via add remove programs in the control panel

So are you saying (for clarity) that I DON'T need AVG while I have COMODO? I thought that I only had the COMODO firewall. I didn't know that COMODO was an antivirus system...nevermind! I just checked the COMODO site - I'll stick with them!

COMODO Internet Security <--I am looking at this installed and I believe its the whole package, firewall and AV, if it does not have AV then keep AVG.
