    Default ToolbarCopv3.4 detected as Smitfraud-C

    Hi,

Tried using Toolbarcop http://windowsxp.mvps.org/toolbarcop.htm today to get rid of a particularly troublesome BHO. Double clicked on the toolbarcop application and to my surprise got a dialog box from Spybot saying it detected SmitFraud-C in the .exe. Just to be sure i downloaded a fresh copy of ToolbarCop but got the same result.

Does it seem likely that this app is infected with Smitfraud-C at it's point of origin ?

    hi,

thanks for reporting, I checked the file and our detection on Smitfraud-C. and found an error on our part, so this is a real false positive.
correction will be effective with the next update, to be expected at the end of the week.

    Default Same problem

I just updated my copy of Spybot, and it's still indicating that ToolBarCop is infested with smitfraud-c. Is this a false positive?

    Thanks!

I just downloaded and started Toolbarcop with Teatimer activated but did not get any messages. Maybe you can provide some more information.

    Default Please Disregard

I updated again, and rebooted and the reported problem did not reappear.

    Thanks for your help.
