Question Spybot S&D's registry backup - future risk or not?

    Hello,
My laptop was infected with the "Vista Security 2010..." malware & I used Spyware S&D to get rid of it. But, before Spybot S&D ran it asked me if I wanted to backup my registry files, which I did.

On reading about the "Vista Security..." malware, I saw that it creates its entries in the system registry.

Now even though my laptop is clean, will the Registry Backup which Spybot S&D made before it cleaned out the malware come back to bite me someday ? Can the malware reactivate at a later day using the Registry backup? OR Is it safe to delete registry back files which Spybot S&D created ?

    Thanks !!

I doubt it very much. The backup file would probably be quarantined as well. Best wait for one of the team to respond but you wont do any harm by just checking its all gone with another anti-malware product.
