infected machine - IE won't start

Hello,
I have a friends machine that wasn't updated properly for antivirus and spyware. Trend was previously installed. I installed AVG to get an updated virus software and scanned. It was recommended to uninstall Spysweeper by AVG so I did and I then installed Malwarebytes. Machine seems to run okay except IE icon or program won't do anything. Can I get IE to work again? Attached is HJT log and AVG log.

I was able to download and install IE 8 and everything seems to be working okay. I'm re-running the scans to make sure everything is clean. Considered this closed as others might have more serious problems to solve... I'm updating the machine with the most recent updates.
