I have a laptop that has a virus. I installed some programs like Spybot but none of them will do updates. Now I understand you can do updates manually for sb&d but how?

Thanks for the reply. I will try it again. I did that last night and then when I went to run the program it was still asking for the updates and wouldn't allow me to scan.

Ahh, it worked this time. Now lets hope Spybot can detect and fix the issue

I was able to run a scan and it found two items that I thought were my problems. A fake firewall setting and security settings. I removed the threats but still can't download any updates to the device.

But Spybot is up-to-date (version 1.6.2 and newest detection rules), isn't it?
