    Spybot has a pause button.

Open Spybot > Advanced Mode > Settings > Settings > search a little bit
    Best regards - Beste Grüße,

    Ok sorry.

Why is it hidden? Is there some advantage to hiding it?
    thanks

Well... I can't answer your question...
Do you need the pause button? I've activated this feature, but don't need it...
You should run Spybot when you've done everything else on your computer, so there should be no reason for pausing it except some extraordinary problems.

yes I needed it. thus the reason for the original post.

sometimes on laptops with limited amounts of memory 3gb with windows and browsers open the disk cache acts up and takes forever so rather than have two programs fight for access, it would be better to pause the program and have one finish faster..

I am never done doing everything on my computer. I multi task

seems like a silly point to argue about consider most other scanning programs have pause buttons... but you drug up the post again...

All browsers should be closed during scanning. All browsers MUST be closed in order for SpyBot Search & Destroy to properly immunize. This is no time to 'multitask'.

Immunization is a separate function which I am not talking about. Yes I know the browser must be closed. The program has that warning built in already.

Yes but it is not on by default for some silly reason.

Spybot>Advanced Mode>Settings>Settings>Expert Settings>Show Expert Settings in the Results List.

    Otherwise you get this

I probably never noticed since I always use the expert buttons.

Anyway, it is good you have resolved the issue.

Now, we just need version 2 to be released!
