using s&d with vista

Help me out here please. My husband does IT for our local school district and does spyware removal etc.. on the side for friends and family. My friend is running Vista on her desktop computer with 4 accounts. Hers, Husband & 2 kids accounts. They had spyware on at least one account. My husband told them they need to log into each account and run spybot to remove the spyware. Her husband says that's not true and he's "seen" it going thru all the files on all the accounts when he runs it from one account only.

Please help me out here folks. I'm pretty sure my husband is right but I need proof here
