The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Fraud.AVSecuritySuite" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Fraud.AVSecuritySuite claims to be an antispyware tool. When it is installed to the computer it finds a lot of harmless entries in order to frighten the user and make him buy a license to get the issues fixed.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "ouferdbubtdve" and pointing to "*.exe".

Files:

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\AV Security Suite".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\avsoft".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\avsuite".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.AVSecuritySuite uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "AV Security Suite" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWARE\".
  • Delete the registry key "AV Security Suite" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE\".
  • Delete the registry key "avsoft" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWARE\".
  • Delete the registry key "avsoft" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE\".
  • Delete the registry key "avsuite" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWARE\".
  • Delete the registry key "avsuite" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE\".
  • Remove "http=127.0.0.1:1041" from registry value "ProxyServer" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\".
  • Remove "http=127.0.0.1:5555" from registry value "ProxyServer" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\".
If Fraud.AVSecuritySuite uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer.

  • Please check your bookmarks for links to "antispybase.com".

  • Please check your bookmarks for links to "antispywareprog.net".
  • Please check your bookmarks for links to "omegantivir.com".
  • Please check your bookmarks for links to "threatremover.net".

Hosts:

The host file is a local address book for Internet pages. It is sometimes used by malware to block certain domains, or to silently redirect them.
Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer will show its content to you; you can also us a text editor to locate and edit the file "hosts" (most likely in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\).
  • Check the hosts file entry for the domain "*.com".
  • Check the hosts file entry for the domain "*.net".
