Frozen after initial scan..need help

I downloaded Spybot Search and Destroy and ran an initial scan and 194 problems were found, 2 of which could not be fixed, except, perhaps upon restart.

So I restarted and got a black, blank window which was labeled
MS-DOS SUBSYSTEM
C:WINDOWS/System32\command.com

C:\program1\symantec\s32EVNT1.Dll

on top of that was another little window which was labeled
C:WINDOWS/System32\command.com
and said
AN INSTALLABLE VIRTUAL DEVICE DRIVER FAILED Dll INITIALIZATION
CHOOSE close TO TERMINATE.


there were 2 buttons to choose..CLOSE or IGNORE
neither worked and the machine was frozen, not even the task bar would pop up.

So I restarted in Safe Mode and uninstalled Spybot S&D through the control panel, restarted twice and same old story...just the desktop and the 2 windows.

Any idea on how to get rid of this?

Now I have as many as 15 windows opened and can't close or delete!
I tried to terminate via task manager, but cannot find the way to do so.
It just brings up another 'end task' window.
HELP ANYONE?
