    Default Spybot 1.6.2 will not run to completion, crashes

    I have run Spybot for years , I am now in a situation where it will not run. It starts up fine , updates fine , but during the security check it crashes after about 20,000 items are processed. I can find no log Checks.txt or any trace of where it crashed.

    Windows XP SP3 , run full scan of using Symantect AV - clean , Run Trend Micro Analysis - clean . Used msconfig disabled all but Microsoft Services and tried running a new install of Spybot. Still fails .

    I do not run system restore.

    FYI that questions regarding Spybot-S&D support can be asked here: Spybot-S&D Forums

    If your computer shows signs of infection please follow instructions in "BEFORE you POST" to produce a DDS log, start a new topic here in the malware removal forum and someone will advise you when available.

    I moved your topic from the Spybot forum and merged it with this one as apparently a DDS log is zipped and attached
    No Malware logs are to be posted in any of our other forums.

    Forums can be confusing but please re-read the FAQ, start a new topic here in this Malware Removal Forum and "copy/paste" the DDS.txt log into it.
