    Question Possible false positive

    Hi, I have a spybot pop-up warning that looks like it might be a false positive. How do I decide what to do? It says...

    Spybot search & destroy has encountered and terminated a process that is listed as part of a malicious software.
    Process ID: 2580
    Filename: Adobe_Updater.exe
    Found In: c::\program files\common files\adobe\upda
    Identified as: PerfectKeylogger

    I'm using Windows XP Home Edition, SP3
    Browser is Internet Explorer 8.
    This happened immediately after an automatic update install from Adobe (Adobe 9 is now installed on my computer)

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    hello,

    yes this appears to be a false positive with the TeaTimer. It is probably a random false positive caused when the adobe updater was not properly readable by the TeaTimer. This can happen if another process interferes. Do you have any other security software installed that may have been active at the same time?
