Default Crashes and Freezes the Computer

    Hi,

I have a Win2K machine that has a problem running Spybot-S&D. This machine had a previous version of SB (not sure which one, but probably 1.5) and was working fine. I upgraded to SB 1.6.2 and now I get an exception about 5 minutes after I boot it up and then everything freezes at some point shortly after that. If I remove SB, everything works fine.

This is an old machine that cannot be upgraded due to some proprietary HW/SW that it runs.

I have since tried to install SB version 1.5, but get the same crash/freeze. Looking at the event log, I see:

    Event Type: Information
    Event Source: Application Popup
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 26
    Date: 2/1/2011
    Time: 11:51:26 AM
    User: N/A
    Computer: SNIFFER-A0UJP89
    Description:
Application popup: Explorer.EXE - Application Error : The exception Illegal Instruction
An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.
(0xc000001d) occurred in the application at location 0x77fb7960.

    and one time this:

    Event Type: Information
    Event Source: Application Popup
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 26
    Date: 2/1/2011
    Time: 11:51:26 AM
    User: N/A
    Computer: SNIFFER-A0UJP89
    Description:
Application popup: Explorer.EXE - Application Error : The exception Illegal Instruction
An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.
(0xc000001d) occurred in the application at location 0x77fb7960.

At one point I had the Task Manager up when the computer froze and could see that TeaTimer was at 99% utilization.

Any idea's on what I might be able to try in order to get this to work?

    Thanks,

    WesR
