    Default trying to remove Click.giftload

For a couple days now we have noticed the browser hijacker and some general slowness on our netbook. Spybot has found click.giftload and claims to remove it, but as with many others, it doesn't go away. I have run ERUNT copied both the dds and spybot results here as requested. I also use Norton Antivirus. Spybot's TeaTimer is not active at the moment. If you need more information, please let me know. Any advice on how to remove this malware is much appreciated!

    Hi,

Download GMER here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
    • Double-click .exe that you downloaded
    • Click rootkit-tab, uncheck files option and then click scan.
    • Don't check
      Show All
      box while scanning in progress!
    • When scanning is ready, click Copy.
    • This copies log to clipboard
    • Post log (if the log is long, archive it into a zip file and attach instead of posting) in your reply.

    Hi

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully first.

    Please continue as follows:

    1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
      Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

    2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

    C:\ComboFix.txt
    New dds log.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

I'm following instructions as noted, but every time I try to run ComboFix, the computer crashes (showing the "blue screen"). I had disabled Norton prior to running ComboFix, tried running in regular and safemode, and every time, just before ComboFix finishes loading, the computer goes down. Please advise if there is something else I can do to get ComboFix to run or another option.

    Hi,

    1. Download TDSSKiller and extract its contents into a folder in desired location (i.e. c:\tdsskiller).
    2. Execute the file TDSSKiller.exe.
    3. Click Start Scan. If threats are found, select cure and click Continue (tool may prompt for a reboot).
    4. Post back contents of log file in c: drive root (name should be in UtilityName.Version_Date_Time_log.txt format)
