I think I’ve got the beginning items downloaded, run and the results saved / posted here - per the procedure noted under “Before You Post”

ERUNT has been downloaded and run as directed. (FYI: We do have previous system restore points we set using Windows System Restore – not sure if you need or can use.)

Please note that all instructions given are customised for this computer only, the tools used may cause damage if used on a computer with different infections.

If you think you have similar problems, please post the appropriate logs in the Malware Removal forum and wait for help.
Hi and welcome to Safer Networking.

I'm Dakeyras and I am going to try to assist you with your problem. Please take note of the below:
    • I will start working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
    • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine!
    • The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
    • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
    • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
    • Refrain from running self fixes as this will hinder the malware removal process.
    • It may prove beneficial if you print of the following instructions or save them to notepad as I post them.
    • Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
    Before we start:

Please be aware that removing Malware is a potentially hazardous undertaking. I will take care not to knowingly suggest courses of action that might damage your computer. However it is impossible for me to foresee all interactions that may happen between the software on your computer and those we'll use to clear you of infection, and I cannot guarantee the safety of your system. It is possible that we might encounter situations where the only recourse is to re-format and re-install your operating system, or to necessitate you taking your computer to a repair shop.

Because of this, I advise you to backup any personal files and folders before you start.

    Next:

Out of date Adobe and Java installations pose a security risk. They can be used by malware as a means to infect a computer and or re-infect. We will update both in due course.

Now please go to Start >> Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs and remove the following (if present):

    Adobe Reader 8.1.5
    Java(TM) 6 Update 5

Spybot - Search & Destroy <-- Will hinder the Malware Removal process, you may reinstall when I give the all clear.
Viewpoint Media Player <-- Has undesirable characteristics.

To do so, click once on each of the above in turn to highlight and then click on the Remove button.

    Download/Run ComboFix:

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

    * Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review.

Note: If ComboFix detects Rootkit activitity and asks to reboot the system, please allow this to be done.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own.
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use. ComboFix Should Not be used unless requested by a forum helper

When completed the above, please post back the following in the order asked for:
    • How is your computer performing now, any other symptoms and or problems encountered?
    • ComboFix Log.
    • A new DDS Log.

    Default requested actions completed

My system seems to be operating better. I have not had my browser redirected since completing the requested actions. Other unauthorized activity within the system has not yet been observed.

    As for other performance...
Due to e-mail being generated by the bug and sent to various contacts in my yahoo e-mail account, including my contacts at work, I had to terminate that account. As a result, I'm not sure how to determine if this is still an issue.
    > My approach would be to create a new yahoo e-mail account with a very limited contact list... but I'm not sure if this would be the correct action, so please advise.

The Avira Anti-vir Guard was reset to active during the first ComboFix reboot at the completion of Stage 2.
Multiple viruses were found during the various stages. Results represented in the attached screen shot. (zipped)
The only way past this, since the machine was in blue-screen, was to "allow" which seemed to be the right action - since having Avira turned off would have resulted in the same / similar virus activity.

ComboFix log, new DDS log, and Attach zip-file are attached for review.

Thank you for your support to get me this far!
    Please advise on next steps.

    Hi.

    Good.

    As for other performance...
Due to e-mail being generated by the bug and sent to various contacts in my yahoo e-mail account, including my contacts at work, I had to terminate that account. As a result, I'm not sure how to determine if this is still an issue.

Aye indeed that would be one option you mentioned and or when I give the all clear change both the password and secret question for the account as a precaution.

The Avira Anti-vir Guard was reset to active during the first ComboFix reboot at the completion of Stage 2.
Multiple viruses were found during the various stages. Results represented in the attached screen shot. (zipped)

    Not a problem.

ComboFix log, new DDS log, and Attach zip-file are attached for review.
No need to attach any logs in future unless I request so, thank you.

Thank you for your support to get me this far!
    You're welcome!

    Custom ComboFix-Script:

    • Please open Notepad (Start -> Run -> type notepad in the Open field -> OK) and copy and paste the text present inside the code box below:
    Code:
    File::
    c:\windows\Jdupewujona.bin

    DDS::
    TB: {A057A204-BACC-4D26-9990-79A187E2698E} - No File

    RegLock::
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\CLSID\{A483C63A-CDBC-426E-BF93-872502E8144E}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\CLSID\{A483C63A-CDBC-426E-BF93-872502E8144E}\Elevation]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\CLSID\{A483C63A-CDBC-426E-BF93-872502E8144E}\LocalServer32]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\CLSID\{A483C63A-CDBC-426E-BF93-872502E8144E}\TypeLib]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\Interface\{E3F2C3CB-5EB8-4A04-B22C-7E3B4B6AF30F}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\Interface\{E3F2C3CB-5EB8-4A04-B22C-7E3B4B6AF30F}\ProxyStubClsid32]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\Interface\{E3F2C3CB-5EB8-4A04-B22C-7E3B4B6AF30F}\TypeLib]
    • Save this as CFScript.txt and change the "Save as type" to "All Files" and place it on your desktop.

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
    • ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
    • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

Caution: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall. If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue. If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

    Next:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

    • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and select then follow the prompts to install the program.
    • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
    • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please post that log in your next reply.
The log can also be found here:
    1. Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    2. Click on the Logs radio tab.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

When completed the above, please post back the following in the order asked for:
    • How is your computer performing now, any further symptoms and or problems encountered?
    • ComboFix Log.
    • Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Log.

    Hi.

When running ComboFix via the script, a message window appeared advising that there is a newer version of ComboFix available – and offered the option to download it: Yes or No.
I chose ‘No’ under the logic that you would want the same version as what you looked at yesterday, correct?
(also, I am not sure the update isn’t a scam)
Actually it would have been fine to allow ComboFix to download a new version of itself so to speak etc but I appreciate what you mentioned and no harm done what so ever I assure you.

If you would like, I can run the script again and accept the update.
No need at this time, if in the future I deem it necessary to run ComboFix again we can always download the updated version.

Waiting for your reply before going forward with running mbam-setup.exe.
By all means go ahead, post the log and provide myself with a updated status regarding your machine.

    Hi.

OK no problem, please carry out the below, thank you.

Please download TDSSKiller.zip and extract (unzip) it to your Desktop.

    • Double click on TDSSKiller.exe to launch it.
    • Click on Start Scan, the scan will run.
    • When the scan has finished, if it finds anything please click on the drop down arrow next to Cure and select Skip
    • Now click on Report to open the log file created by TDSSKiller in your root directory C:\
    • To find the log go to Start > Computer > C:
    • Post the contents of that log in your next reply please.
Note: Do not have TDSSKiller remove anything if found at this point in time!
