Hello and welcome to the forum, I see nothing of any malware in this log and you have supplied no information about your problem. If you still need help, then do this.

    1) Return to C:\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe and rename to to C:\HijackThis\HJT.exe

    2) Give me as much information as you can, especially any error messages "word for word".

    3) Post a new HJT log.

    Thanks...pskelley

    Thanks for your reply.

Out of curiosity, what is the rationale behind renaming HijackThis.exe to HJT.exe?

AVG detected a "virus" but I am not sure if it is.

    Virus name: Trojan horse Generic.XDR
    Path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\entry.dll

    any ideas?

Please do not quote my instructions, as waste of space, thanks.

Hackers have been writing there junk so that if it reconizes HijackThis.exe which is the normal way it would be installed, there junk will not show up when the scan is run. Notice no 020 items in the log, that can be a clue, I will know when you post the log.

Thanks for the information about the trojan, sure that will come in handy. Please read the instructions carefully so you do not miss any:

    3) Post a new HJT log

Please turn off "word wrap" under "Format" in Notepad, make and post another HJT log that will be single spaced like the first one you posted. My scanner can not scan a formated log.

    Editing in these additional instructions

I pieced that log together enough to tell me there is nothing new in the log, and I see no malware. I still would like a log that is not formated.

    You said that:
AVG detected a "virus" but I am not sure if it is.
    Virus name: Trojan horse Generic.XDR
    Path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\entry.dll
    any ideas?
You are receiving no error messages, are there any symptoms at all to indicated a problem?

Please use one or more of these free online scanners to scan that file you say AVG located and post those results for me to see. You will be scanning this:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\entry.dll and here are the scanners:
    http://virusscan.jotti.org/
    http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
    http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html

I would also like you to follow the instructions to run this scan:
    ewido scan:

      • Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    4. Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.

IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:
    2. Lauch ewido-anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
    3. Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
    4. ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
    5. If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all actions"
    6. Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
    7. Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important).
    8. Close ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the results of the ewido report scan.

Post the ewido scan results, the results from the scan online on the files AVG located and a new HJT log that is not formated.

    Thanks
